Then the Olive Spoke:
After 40 days, Noah opened the window of the Ark. He then waited for 7 days after sending a Raven to reconnoit. After 7 more days he sent a Dove and when the Dove returned, on its beak was a freshly plucked OLIVE leaf. Then Noah knew that in deed life had returned to the earth and when the God commanded him to come out of the Ark, he did so and later built an Altar for the Lord.
The Olive on the beak of the Dove became a symbol of life, a symbol of new birth for Noah and an illustration of God's providence. This Altar was to be a place of recognition of what God had done for Noah and his family and a place where they can, in thanks giving and recognition, praise God.
I therefore decided to call the first ever All South African Gospel Music Awards: Olive Awards
